Centreville superintendent candidate withdraws

The field of candidates for Centreville Public Schools’ new superintendent became a two-person race, as one of the three finalists withdrew his candidacy.
District officials were informed Wednesday morning that Tim Donahue decided to not participate in Saturday’s interview. Donahue has been superintendent at Potterville Public Schools since 2010.
The development means district officials will interview Stephanie Lemmer at 9 a.m. Saturday and Corey Helgesen at 10:15 a.m. The interviews will take place during a public session Saturday at Centreville High School’s media center.
Lemmer is director of Head Start at Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency, while Helgesen is superintendent at Litchfield Community Schools..
Donahue, Lemmer and Helgesen were selected from a five-person group of semi-finalists interviewed last weekend.
The board expects Centreville’s new superintendent to begin work July 1.
The posted salary is between $100,000 and $110,000 annually.
