Colon village president Diane Downs said a search committee charged with hiring a village manager will assemble as soon as possible to begin the process of interviewing two finalists.
Fourteen résumés were turned in by the late January deadline and Downs said she reviewed them all. Eventually, the list was narrowed to three. One of the three, however, subsequently accepted a job in a Berrien County community.
Downs is in the midst of coordinating a date and time during which committee members and the two candidates are available for interviews.
The village council has allocated between $45,000 and $60,000 for the position, with a final salary contingent on experience.
