The start of county commission meetings from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. has not resulted in greater attendance.
Commissioners during their executive committee meeting Wednesday were provided attendance details by board chairman Allen Balog.
The commission for years had met at 5 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays of the month. With three new members joining the five-person board at the beginning of the year, a decision was made to push the start time 60 minutes later as a means of attracting more people.
Balog said in general, attendance numbers were no different at 5 p.m. meetings than at 6 p.m.
Balog said he would be fine moving the meetings back to a 5 p.m. start time, Commissioner Kathy Pangle said she prefers 6 o’clock.
No decision was made and for the moment, the start time will remain at 6 o’clock.
