The second annual Safe Driving Campaign: Wildcats ADAPT is being moved from Wednesday this week to next Wednesday, March 22. This is the third event in the campaign this year, which will feature a school assembly car crash and helicopter rescue demonstration.
Three Rivers fire and a local helicopter rescue team will coordinate a car crash scene and helicopter landing (weather permitting) at the school.
The idea for the event is to reinforce the importance of safe driving and staying calm and being prepared if an accident happens.
Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for 15-to-20 year olds in the United States, claiming more than 5,000 lives a year.
This year’s mock event from ADAPT — Arrive Safely, Decisive, Alert, Prepared and Trained — takes place on Wednesday, March 22 from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. at Three Rivers High School.
