Diana Johnson, 71

Diana Marie (Renz) Johnson, age 71, of Centreville, passed away on Monay, March 27, 2017 at Fairview Nursing Home. She was born in Trenton, NJ on August 22, 1945, a daughter of Jerry and Othelia (Policek) Renz. She graduated from Princeton High School, New Jersey, in 1963. On March 20, 1965, she married Jeffery Johnson, of Centreville, at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey where Jeff was stationed. They celebrated 52 years of marriage last week.

Diana loved to travel, much of that done with her family and friends on motorcycles. She was also an active supporter of the American Legion with her husband and sons. Prior to moving to Michigan in 2012, she lived in Phoenix, AZ for 20 years, where she enjoyed the desert’s historical Native American Culture. She was always ready for a hike or trip to somewhere new.

She was a great companion, as well as a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by 2 sons, Jeffery C. Johnson, 45, Centreville, and William M. Johnson, 36, Oxford, WI, sister Roberta Willis of Maryland, many nieces and nephews, and two grandsons.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents.

Relatives and friends will be received Saturday, April 1 from 11-1 where religious services will be held at 1 pm at Eley Funeral Home, Centreville. Pastor Emily Slavicek, Centreville United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Prairie River Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Southern Care Hospice.
