Falkenstein resigns from GOCC board

Mary Lou Falkenstein, citing health reasons, tendered her resignation from the Glen Oaks Community College Board of Trustees. Her resignation will take effect March 20. Falkenstein served on the board for 4 1/2 years. Thursday, a $500 scholarship was announced to be awarded to a Glen Oaks student during the 2017-18 school year in her honor.
GOCC is looking to fill the vacancy and the person running would serve until the next election on Nov. 20, 2018, where the trustee would have the option to run for election to fill the remainder of the term from 2018-20.
Anyone with interest must notify the Glen Oaks presidents’ office by Friday, March 17 at 3 p.m.
