Two candidates will be interviewed for the position of superintendent of St. Joseph County Intermediate School District.
The candidates are Teresa Belote, superintendent of Bronson Community Schools, and Patrick Kreger, superintendent of Union City Community Schools.
Belote has been superintendent at Bronson for three years, coming from a long history working for Sturgis Public Schools.
Meanwhile, Kreger has been the superintendent in Union City since 2007. In addition, he has served as director of instruction and as middle school principal. Prior to that, he was principal at Dexter Community Schools and began his career as a high school math and science teacher.
The candidates’ first interview with the board and search committee will take place April 17, following the regular board meeting. Interviews take place at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
On April 19, the board will determine the finalist, whom they will invite back for a second interview and possibly a site visit.
Current Superintendent Barb Marshall is retiring in June.
