Roger Sylvester, 70

Mr. Roger Allen Sylvester, age 70, of Three Rivers, passed away on Monday, April 10th, 2017 at Bronson Hospital. He was born on February 21, 1947 in Vicksburg, the son of the late Leon and Elnora (Howard) Sylvester.

Roger graduated from Schoolcraft High School and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1968. He later went to trade school becoming a diesel mechanic and worked for many years for P & P Transportation. Roger was a member of the American Legion Hice-Shutes Post #170 and also was very active in the Neighborhood Watch Program . He recently joined the Newberg-Norton Bible Church. Roger loved fishing, camping, working on vehicles, and especially being with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant child, one grandchild, Phillip “P.J.” Pollard Jr., and one sister Bonnie Rhodes.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife of 50 years Eva (Dubbeld) Sylvester, whom he married on July 1st, 1966. One son, Todd (Miranda) Sylvester, of Three Rivers; three daughters, Bettie (Klaas) de Jonge, of Plainwell, MI., Debra Warmack, of Three Rivers, and Cindy (Phillip) Pollard, of Three Rivers. Ten grandchildren, Nathan, Kerissa, Keyanni, Ariana, Logan, Bethany, Jordan, Shelby, Carryann, and Veda. Three great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and private services were held.
