Cass County crash injures one

Cass County Sheriff’s Department officials were called this week to a single-vehicle accident in Porter Township.
Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called at 12:45 p.m. Monday to Silverhead Lake Road, near M-40.
Investigators said 25-year-old Devin Neice, of Elkhart was eastbound on Shavehead Lake Road when he lost control of his vehicle. It went into a field and then crashed into a tree.
Neice was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment. Neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the incident. Deputies said he was wearing his seatbelt.
