Forest Hicks, 86

 

Mr. Forest William Hicks, age 86, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 12, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born on August 16, 1930 in Covington, OH., the son of the late Harry and Hazel (Brenner) Hicks.

Forest served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Following his discharge Forest worked for several companies as a quality control supervisor, including Peterson Spring, Excel Machine Rite, and eventually retired out of Dura Corporation. Forest also worked for the parks in Wellston, MI. He was an avid bowler, fisherman, and was inducted into the Oklahoma Softball Hall of Fame.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Ann Hicks, and five brothers.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, sons, Randall (Sherrie) Hicks and Scott (Brenda) Hicks, both of Three Rivers; daughters, Jodi (James) Moore, of Paw Paw, MI., and Wendi (Leslie) Schull, of Three Rivers; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Brothers, Don (Lois) Hicks and Ted (Sue) Hicks and sisters, Phyllis (Glenn) Cook, Mary (Dean) Reames, and Linda (Don) Leister.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Hohner Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Hohner Funeral Home with Pastor Marty Culver officiating. Military Honor’s under the auspices of the American Legion Hice-Shutes Post 170 will be held immediately following services.

Memorial donations may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association or Three Rivers Hospice. Envelopes available at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.hohnerfh.com.
