Home invasion in Mendon Township

An 82-year-old Mendon Township man was the victim of a home invasion and armed robbery over the weekend.
State police said the incident occurred at 7 p.m. Sunday in the 23000 block of Michigan Avenue, where two men asked the victim if they could use his telephone. The man declined and closed the door.
The suspects managed to force their way into the residence and stole several firearms.
They are described as white, with one about 30 years old, the other middle-aged. The younger one may have a small tattoo near his left eye. They were driving a small, dark four-door vehicle.
A department media release did not indicate whether the victim was injured during the incident.
