Richard Chester Noirot, age 81, of Colon, passed away Friday May 19, 2017, at his home after several months of failing health.
Richard was born May 6, 1936 in Elmhurst, Ill., a son to the late Chester N. and Josephine (Woehler) Noirot.
On Nov. 10, 1967, he married Clara R. Fredericks in Elmhurst, Ill. She preceded him in death Oct. 17, 2015.
Richard had served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Colon American Legion Post #454.
He had worked at several area manufacturing businesses including D & S Pallet in Union City and retired from Douglas Auto Tec in Bronson.
Richard is survived by his son James Goad of Colon, brother Ronald (Tammy) Noirot of Colon and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife he was preceded in death by 2 sisters Marjorie Mobeck and Louise Dwyer and nephew Rick Dwyer.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m. at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon. Funeral services celebrating the life of Richard C. Noirot will be Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David J. Farrell officiating. If desired the family suggest memorials be made in memory of Richard to the Colon American Legion. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon with military honors conferred by the U.S. Army honor guard and Colon American Legion Post # 454.
