A Burr Oak man was arrested after leading authorities on a pursuit last week.
According to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were aware of two cars racing through Sturgis around 6 p.m. Friday. Central dispatch received a call around 7:30 p.m. concerning a suspicious vehicle in the vicinity of Burr Oak and Deer Park roads.
The vehicle fit the description of one of the cars involved in the Sturgis incident and deputies attempted to stop the driver for a plate violation. Authorities said the 33-year-old driver refused to stop and evaded police cars attempting to block it.
The driver eventually surrendered after pulling into a residential driveway on Park Street in Burr Oak. He had an outstanding warrant and was charged with driving without a license, no registration and no insurance.
