White Pigeon seeks grants for sidewalk project

Members of the White Pigeon Collaboration Team are pursuing a number of grant opportunities to help cover the cost of a sidewalk from downtown to U.S. 131.
During last week’s monthly meeting, the group of community activists learned the project’s cost would be $29,000. A core of volunteers from cement businesses has offered to spend Saturdays on the project.
Meanwhile, team members agreed to pursue community-improvement grants from Modern Woodmen, Kroc Institute, Ronald McDonald House Charities and Culver’s.
The idea of fundraisers in partnership with Biggby Coffee, through a Go Fund Me drive and possibly a bingo night also were proposed.
Anyone interested in joining the team or helping on any of the projects is encouraged to contact Perri Saunders at the White Pigeon Township Library.
