Two people, including a Three Rivers resident, had to be extricated from a vehicle Saturday after it went off the road and down an embankment in Cass County’s Porter Township.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Department said the occupants, 28-year-old Krystal Taylor of Three Rivers and Rebecca Mallo, 27, of Cassopolis, were involved in the incident that occurred between 4 and 5 a.m. Saturday on Rainbow Road, near Glendon Road.
Investigators said the vehicle’s driver, who left the scene following the incident, failed to safely negotiate a curve in the roadway. The vehicle overturned as it left the road and ended up in a wooded area.
Tyler sought treatment at Three Rivers Health; Mallo was treated at the scene.
Deputies said alcohol appears to have been a factor in the incident.
