Dale E. Stratton, age 80, of Marcellus, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017.
He was born June 10, 1937 in Kalamazoo, the son of Ernest A. and Mildred I. (Snow) Stratton. On February 22, 1958 in Marcellus he married Margaret “Lil” Stratton who preceded him in death.
Dale was a farmer his whole life, he was also a Patience Supervisor at Peterson Spring in Three Rivers and a builder and woodworker. He was a mentor for his grandchildren and Superman to his girls. He loved sports, especially basketball and was a huge Detroit Tigers fan. Dale was a member of the American Legion in Crystal Rivers, FL and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Surviving is one daughter, Debra (Tony) Crawford of Centreville, MI; one son, Robert (Wanda) Stratton of Marcellus; three sisters, Diana Haas of Marcellus, Donna Stratton of Portage, MI and Janet Driskel of Three Rivers; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and many nieces & newphews. Dale was preceded in death by his wife Lil, one daughter Joyce Gilmore, one brother Gene Stratton and his parents.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 P.M on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Howardsville Gospel Church with memorial services following immediately at 1PM. Burial of cremains will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
