Mrs. Sharon Irene Wood, age 69, of Sturgis, passed away suddenly early Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Thurston Woods Village. She was born on May 21, 1948 in Three Rivers, the daughter of the late Oscar and Irene (Warner) Parker.
In Sharon’s younger years she was employed as a waitress for Liz’s Lunch Box now known as Dad’s Place. She then went on to work for several years at Affinity Mold in Mendon as well. She was a member of Riverside Church of Three Rivers. Sharon cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
She is survived by daughter, Susan Detwiler of Sturgis; sons, Jack Detwiler, Melvin Detwiler both of Three Rivers, and Oscar (Lisa) Detwiler of Mendon; grandchildren, Mandy, Shasta, Ashley, Taylor, Jack Jr., Brandy, Cassandra, Josh, Kaleb, and Michael (Sarah); great grandchildren, Alexis, Levi, Kale, Jace, Kinslee, Aniya, Jackson, Masen, May, Abagail, Adrean, and Karsen.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Hohner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Hohner Funeral Home with Pastor Amy Kemp officiating. Interment will be held at Peek Cemetery.
