Constantine man wins in Powerball

A Constantine man is $100,000 richer after having good fortune on a Powerball lottery ticket.

State lottery officials said Stephen Strickland won the prize after matching four of the five white balls and the Powerball number for a $50,000 reward. Strickland, however, paid an extra dollar for the Powerplay option, which doubled his winnings.

The 34-year-old Strickland claimed his winnings Monday from lottery headquarters in Lansing.

He bought his winning ticket at Jit Food and Gas on North Washington Street in Constantine.

Strickland told lottery officials he plans to pay some bills and take his family on a cruise.
