Deana Lillie, 79

Deana M. Lillie, age 79, of Marcellus, passed away at home.
She was born December 5, 1937, in Marcellus at the home of her Great-Grand Parents, Henry and Edith Eggleston and was the daughter of Milo Earl and Mary J (Barnhart) Gardner.  On June 22, 1958 in Marcellus, she married Albert V Lillie who preceded her in death in 2006.
Deana graduated from Marcellus High School in 1956.  Following graduation she was employed with The Protane Corporation in Cassopolis for 7 years before moving to St. Louis, Missouri.  Deana and Albert built and lived in their home in Marcellus since 1980.  Deana loved her home and her life as a homemaker.  She was very proud and active in the Eastern Star.  Deana was a Past Matron and Life Member of Ideal Chapter No. 167, Order of Eastern Star, Marcellus; past President of the former Cass Co. Association, O.E.S. the 75th Anniversary year 1997-1998, Member of Cass-Van Buren Co. Association and Southwestern District Association.  She was also a Past Grand Committee Member, (Dole-Johnson Grand Family), Chairman of the Obituaries the Bi-Centennial Year (1975-1976), Honorary Life Member of the Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Michigan.  Deana was very proud to have attended 34 consecutive years at Grand Chapter.  She had plans to attend this year with her friend, Billie Richardson.
Deana is survived by cousins, Barry Gardner of Dowagiac, Paul Gardner of Vail, AZ, Shirley Mroczek and Sharon Sweet both of Marcellus, and Nancy Berleyoung of Knoxville, TN.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 PM Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus with Eastern Star Services following at 2PM. Graveside services will be held at Poe’s Cemetery on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 3:30 PM with Pastor Gary Carr officiating.   Memorials may be directed to the Newberg Ambulance Service.  Online condolences may be left at Mater-Ralston Funeral Home
