Dennis Brew, 78

Dennis W. Brew, age 78, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
Dennis was born Dec. 20, 1938, in Sturgis, a son to the late Donald W. and Nora (Hagadorn) Brew.
He had lived most all of his life in Colon and Sturgis. On Sept. 27, 1958, he married Shirley Stewart in Colon.
Dennis served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a past member of the Sturgis Eagles and enjoyed fishing and golfing.
He had worked as plant manager for several area businesses.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Brew of Sturgis; children, Butch (Lorinda) Brew of Millersburg, Ind., Mike (Heather) Brew of Sturgis and Jennifer (Gary) Gage of Sturgis; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; mother-in-law Helen Stewart of Sturgis; sister-in-law Sharon (Phil) Wogoman of Millersburg, Ind.; and several nieces and newphews.
Dennis was preceded in death by a daughter, Terry Gorbutt; and two sisters, Sharon Kash and Sue Brewer.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, from 3-5 p.m. at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon. A funeral service celebrating the life of Dennis W. Brew will then take place at 5 p.m. from the funeral home with Rev. David J. Farrell officiating.
Cremation will then take place, with private burial of ashes at a later date.
