Joanna Sibbery, 90

Joanna Sibbery, age 90, of Sturgis, and formerly of White Pigeon, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at Sturgis Hospital. She had been in failing health since June.
She was born Jan. 6, 1927, in Yorktown, Ind., a daughter of Arthur and Inez (Davis) Franklin.
She was a Sturgis resident for the past two years, coming from White Pigeon, where she was a resident for 64 years.
She was a homemaker and was employed by Burkin Homes, Brendan Inc., Lantz Realty, was a White Pigeon postal carrier and worked for White Pigeon’s water department. She was a member of White Pigeon American Legion, Aurora Club and Bridge Club, and Church of Christ in Three Rivers.
On Oct. 15, 1948, she married Carl J. Siberia in Middleton, Ind. He preceded her in death Aug. 21, 1989.
She is survived by a daughter, Connie J. (Paul) Norris of Silver Spring, Md.; a son, Gregory D. (Charlene) Siberry of Elkhart, Ind.; three grandchildren, Gregory Siberry II, Monica (Taylor) Ely and Vanessa (Josh) Bowering; and a great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Siberry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and two brothers.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, at the funeral home, with Elder Mike King officiating. Interment will follow in White Pigeon Cemetery. Donations may be directed to Thurston Woods Village.
