Albert “John” Walters passed away in Toledo, Ohio on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the age of 72 due to complications from Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. He was born in Chicago, and raised in Three Rivers, by Robert K. and Moira (Welsh) Walters along with his sister Anne Daugherty. John married Laura Leister on August 27, 1966. They moved to Fort Wayne, and later Toledo, where they raised their children, Brenda, Christina and John. They survive as well as his five grandchildren.
John worked for Sears Roebuck for 18 years and then found his life calling at Consumer Credit Counseling. He spent his years there as a credit counselor and touched many lives. He was also Treasurer of the EAP Association for over 20 years. John was a member of Little Flower Catholic Parish and was an active member of its Men’s Club and Boy Scouts for many years. Fishing was John’s passion. He also loved to travel and spend time with his friends at their monthly card game. He will be missed by all his friends and family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Thomas I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Rd., Toledo, Ohio. (419-531-4424). The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday September 8, 2017 in Little Flower Catholic Church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
