K-9 assists with catching suspect

Three Rivers Police K-9 officer Jake was instrumental in the weekend apprehension of a man wanted on warrants.

Officers were called shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday to the 600 block of Pleasant Street in response to a report of a man allegedly holding a woman against her will.

According to a department media release, the 45-year-old man started removing items from his pockets then fled on foot through backyards in the 600 block of South Main Street. Jake was summoned and eventually caught up to the suspect, who quickly complied with police orders and laid on the ground with his hands visible.

The man was arrested on unspecified warrants, and on charges of resisting and obstructing, and domestic violence.
