Myava Rodgers, 50

Myava M. Rodgers, age 50, of LaGrange, and a former longtime resident of Sturgis, passed away Sunday afternoon, Sept. 3, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home in LaGrange.
She was born Oct. 20, 1966, in LaGrange, Ind., daughter of Ernest and Sandra (Hartman) Miller.
Myava resided in LaGrange for the past five years coming from Sturgis where she lived most of her life.
She was a homemaker and loved time with family, especially when she was caring for her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Talyssa (Joshua) Shepherd of LaGrange, Ind., and Courtnee (Princeton) Potts of Three Rivers, Mich.; three grandchildren, Kaden Shepherd, Andrew Shoup and Kalyeah Potts; mother, Sandra Barrett of Sturgis, Mich.; six sisters; and three brothers; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; and one son, Joshua Shoup.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of Myava M. Rodgers will be held at the Sturgis Church of Christ at a later date to be announced.

Memorial donations would be appreciated to the funeral home to help with expenses.
