Edward “Ted” Walpole Talbot, age 89, of Centreville, died on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Heartland Health Care in Three Rivers. He was born February 14, 1928 in Centreville, a son of Ned and Katherine (Fletcher) Talbot. Ted graduated from Centreville High School in 1945 and served in the United States Army. On June 7, 1952 he married Barbara R. Huff at the Mendon Methodist Church. She preceded him in death November 6, 2013. Ted built and operated the Standard Oil Service station in Centreville for many years. He also worked as a Fuller Brush salesman, carpenter and contractor, and later retired from Weyerhaeuser in Three Rivers. Ted was a member and past Master of the Centreville Masonic Lodge and member of the Royal Arch. He also enjoyed classical music.
Surviving are his sons Stewart Talbot, Centreville, Michael (Judith) Talbot, Three Rivers, Thomas (Sherry) Talbot, Mendon, Brian (Cheng Keow Nee) Talbot, Brookfield, IL, Kevin (Lori) Talbot, Milford, MI, son in law Jeorge Fierro, LeRoy, MI, 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Melinda Sue Fierro, sister Elizabeth Rhodes and brother James Hayes Talbot.
