The public’s help is needed to solve a murder case

Investigators from Michigan State Police are appealing to the public for help with solving a two-year-old homicide case.

Troopers responded Sept. 1, 2015, to 13110 Riverside Drive in Constantine Township, where a family member discovered Lavern Chupp deceased in his residence.

He was the owner of Chupp Construction and numerous rental properties in and around the area.

Although his residence could not be seen from the road, troopers said Chupp’s driveway was surrounded by his rental properties and visible by most, providing the potential for witnesses.

Detectives have determined the crime occurred between the evening of Aug. 31 and early-morning hours of Sept. 1.
