Kristen Maie Littlefield, age 27, of Three Rivers, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, Oct. 25, 2017, at her home.
She was born April 14, 1990, in Kalamazoo, a daughter of Lloyd and Patricia (Hackett) Littlefield.
Kristen resided the past two years in Three Rivers and her early life was lived in Walled Lake, where she was a graduate of Walled Lake Central High School with the class of 2008. She furthered her education at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing and she was working on her master’s degree.
Kristen was currently employed as a manager of Fresenius Home Dialysis in Kalamazoo and she also had worked as a registered nurse at DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids.
Kristen truly loved being a nurse, a profession that fit her so well, being the caring and giving person that she was. She also enjoyed her animals, singing and time spent in the outdoors.
She is survived by her parents, Lloyd and Patricia Littlefield of Walled Lake; a sister, Kelley Littlefield of Walled Lake; two brothers, John Littlefield of Walled Lake and Nicholas Littlefield, a student at Michigan Tech University in Houghton; grandparents Retha (Hackett) and Virgil Lancaster of Burr Oak, Larry and Lynn Littlefield of Burr Oak and Richard Schaeffer of White Pigeon; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clifford Hackett and Sandra (Reed) Schaeffer; a cousin, Daniel Barfield; and great-grandparents.
The family will receive friends from 2-7 p.m. Sunday at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis. Funeral services celebrating the life of Kristen Littlefield will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Rodger Moyer of Sturgis Evangelical Church will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak.
