MDOT plans improvement open house

Michigan Department of Transportation officials are planning an open house next week to address proposed improvements of a major intersection.

The state agency will stage an open house 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Henry Brown Municipal Building in Coldwater to discuss its plans to repave and reconfigure the I-69 business loop in Coldwater.

Officials from MDOT and the city of Coldwater will be on hand to share details of the proposal.

MDOT’s Nick Schirripa said agency officials will be presenting information about a planned 2018 project to repave I-69 BL from I-69 to Pierce Street. I-69 BL includes Fenn Road, Angola Road, Clay Street, and Division Street, as well as a portion of Marshall Street. The project includes a conversion from four lanes to three lanes, reconstruction of the Indiana Northeastern Railroad crossing, and modernizing the traffic signal at the intersection of Clay Street and Garfield Avenue.
