Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Department responded to a single-vehicle accident this week in Volinia Township.
Deputies said a van driven by 34-year-old Anita Hurley of Marcellus crashed into a tree on Penn Road, north of McKenzie Street. Hurley, who was driving north on Penn Road, told authorities she believes she fell asleep.
The incident occurred at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
She was transported to Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw.
