Rob Paterson, 59

Robert Arthur Patterson celebrated his 59th birthday on Monday, Sept. 25, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He passed away Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for and loved.
Rob was born in Detroit and grew up in Belleville with his mother, Charma Patterson-Denison, and his father, Gary Denison; sisters Laura (William) Dudek-Bies; Lisa (Bob) Obeshaw; Terry (Fred) Myers; Nicole Denison; and stepbrothers David and Tim Denison.
Rob was the beloved husband of Lynn (Smith) Patterson for 32 years.
He is survived by his children, Daniel (Alisa) Patterson and Michelle (Trevor) Arnold; and stepchildren, Jeremy (Jolene) Stabler and Holly Stabler.
“Poppy” will be missed by his grandchildren, Kiara and Brady Stabler; Zachary Stabler, Elizabeth and David Patterson; Carson and Harper Arnold; and Peyton and Garrin Patterson.
Rob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Patterson; a sister, Laura Bies; father-in-law, David Smith; grandson, Jeremy Stabler, Jr.; and leaves behind his mother-in-law, George Ann Smith; sister-in-law, Pam Smith; many nieces, nephews, friends; and his faithful Labrador, Quincy.
Rob enjoyed fishing, hunting and Michigan football. His favorite phrase was, “Go Blue!” Rob also enjoyed following political news. Most of all, he valued spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Viewing is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3 at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. A service will immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
