County Fair adds to Hall of Fame

The St. Joseph County Grange Fair Board has added two volunteers to its Hall of Fame.

Honorees were Joan Lindsley and Jim Gushwa.

Lindsley has served the St. Joseph County 4-H program for more than 50 years. During that time, she was actively supporting youth with various projects. Lindsley for the past several years has organized the annual market livestock buyer dinner, held after the 4- H livestock auctions.

Gushwa has been involved in the 4-H program for 30 years, with an emphasis on the market hog project. He served on the fair’s board of directors for three terms.

Gushwa proposed the idea of a countywide Hall of Fame to the board of directors. The idea was accepted and he was named committee chairman to organize the concept.
