Northern Indiana boy, 11, struck, killed along rural road

Northern Indiana police say an 11-year-old boy was struck and killed by a car as he pulled a wagon along a rural road.
A report released Monday by the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department says the boy died Friday evening along a road a few miles north of the town of Topeka.
The 63-year-old motorist told officers that by the time she saw the boy, she did not have enough time to avoid striking him as he walked along the edge of the road.
Police said the wagon the boy was pulling had an LED light on its rear that was activated at the time of the accident.
The Elkhart Truth reports that an obituary identifies the boy as Loren Daniel Miller, who was in the fifth-grade.  (AP)
