The River Country Tourism Council of Southwest Michigan held a photo contest last month and received dozens of photographs taken in St. Joseph County.
The contest theme was “People Having Fun in River Country.” Photos were judged by RCTC officials, who chose three winners.
First place went to Tracy Saunders of Three Rivers for her photo, “Sunrise on Pleasant Lake.”
Michelle Dykstra of Highland, Ind., won second place for her capture of “Fun on Corey Lake.” The third place winner was Angie Birdsall of Constantine for her shot, “Fishing the St. Joe.”
RCTC Executive Director Sharon Zimont said it was important that the winning photos captured the essence of St. Joseph County.
Prizes were $300, $200, and $100 respectively.
Submitted entries will be used to help RCTC market and promote St. Joseph County via social media and its website: rivercountry.com.
