Betty Jean Weagley, age 86, Constantine, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo. She was born January 6, 1931 in Constantine, daughter of Russell and Edna (Kindig) Mallo. Betty graduated from Constantine High School in 1948 and Kalamazoo Beauty School in 1949. She owned and operated Betty’s Beauty Shoppe since 1962. On June 14, 1953, she married James Weagley at Porter Baptist Church, Constantine. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1982. She was a member of Porter Baptist Church, a former Lucky 4-H Leader, and an avid book reader.
Surviving are her daughters April (Michael) Kelly, Palm Coast, FL, Rebecca Weagley, Portage, Pamela Weagley, Constantine; son Bradley (Kim) Weagley, Constantine; grandchildren Sara (Doug) Sloan, Almont, Major Eric (Jodi) Forsyth, Montgomery, AL, Sabrina (Dan) Helland, Constantine, and Amy (Ray) Butler, Middleburg, FL; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers James Mallo and Mahlon (Elsie) Mallo, both of Constantine; sisters Julia (Chester) Combs, Rome City, IN, Martha (Bob) Gage, Sturgis, Joyce Riemer, Three Rivers; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law Phillip Forsyth, 2 infant grandsons, sister-in-law Doris Mallo, and brother-in-law John Riemer.
Relatives and friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8PM at Eley Funeral Home, Constantine. Religious Services will be held Saturday at 11AM at Porter Baptist Church, Pastor Randy Peterson officiating. Interment will be in Constantine Cemetery at 2PM. Memorials may be made to the church.
