Seth Robert “Bob” Keasey, age 83, of Centreville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2017 into the arms of Jesus after battling dementia. He was born in Lansing on April 5, 1934 to Seth C. and Robena (Wood) Keasey. At an early age, the family moved to Centreville where he attended Centreville High School and later graduated in 1946 from Howe Military School. After graduation, Bob attended Hillsdale College where he played football and later also attended WMU majoring in Business. Bob married Shirley Flagg on January 28, 1955, while Bob was serving our country at Ft. Devens, Boston, MA. After the service, Bob accepted a position as foreman in Three Rivers with Weyerhauser Company. He later was employed at Essex Wire in Plymouth, IN, and Rea-wire in Ft. Wayne, IN. In 1966, the couple moved back to Michigan where Bob was employed by Kirsch Company in Sturgis, as Labor Relations Manager. In 1985, worked transferred him to Springfield, OH where they lived for 3 years. In 1988, they came back to Michigan, and after 30 years, in 1997, he retired from the Sturgis plant. In retirement, Bob enjoyed traveling to Florida, golf, watching Tiger baseball, coffee shop visits, and spending time with family and his beloved dog, Duke. Bob enjoyed serving his Lord through Centreville Baptist Church. He also served on the Village Council of Centreville.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Shirley (Flagg) Keasey of Centreville; two daughters Holly (Dave) Lovely of Paw Paw and Brenda (Herb) Pearrow of Centreville; grandchildren Nathan Pearrow, Lauren (Bill) Brown, Jill Pearrow, Wade Lovely, and Jackie Lovely; and great-grandchildren Haley, Ryan, and Logan. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Cynthia Palm.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to honor Bob will be held at Centreville Baptist Church on January 6, 2018 at 11AM. Pastor David Peterson will officiate. Interment of ashes will take place in Prairie River Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Centreville Baptist Church.
