Judy Ann Russell, age 67, of Vicksburg, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2017 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo following a long illness. She was born in Kalamazoo on July 30, 1950 the daughter of Lyle V. and Ethelin G. (McLaughlin) Coburn and was a lifetime resident of the Vicksburg/Scotts area. She graduated from Galesburg-Augusta High School, and worked briefly at Brown Paper Company. It was while she was working for Michigan Bell Telephone that she met her future husband, Dale Russell. Judy and Dale were married on May 15, 1970 in Scotts. Judy then worked at Upjohn, Pharmacia, and Pfizer in Kalamazoo for several years. Judy enjoyed her horses and travelling to horse shows. She was a member of Kal-Val Show Grounds, and the Michigan Chapter of POA (Pony of the Americas) since 1990.
Judy is survived by her husband, Dale; a daughter, Heather (Steve) Puustinen of Scotts; a granddaughter, Emmilya Puustinen; brother, Bob Coburn of Kalamazoo; a sister, Linda (Steve) Harback of Galesburg; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, James Coburn.
The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will begin at 1 pm Thursday at the funeral home with Dewayne Drallette officiating. Burial will follow in Gilson Cemetery in Climax Township.
