Police arrest intoxicated driver

Three Rivers police arrested an Indiana man last week after several witnesses reported an erratic driver on U.S. 131.

According to a department media release, officers were alerted at 6:30 p.m. Thursday to a driver whose vehicle had hit a guardrail and was being operated in a reckless manner. Officers stopped the car near Millard Street.

The driver failed sobriety tests, according to authorities. In addition, K9 Jake was brought to the scene and reacted positively to what turned out to be a large quantity of prescription pills packaged for sale on the street.

A 23-year-old man from Middlebury was charged with operating while intoxicated and possession of controlled substances, according to police.
