Board accepts Logan’s resignation

Three Rivers Community Schools Board of Education members during a special meeting Wednesday accepted the resignation of superintendent Jean Logan. She advised the board last week that she expects to land a position in another district.

A second order of business Wednesday saw the board hire Portage resident Rob Kuhlman to serve as interim superintendent. Kuhlman, 61, retired in June after a seven-year stint as superintendent of Centreville Public Schools.

Logan, 52, was in her fourth year as Three Rivers’ school chief, previously serving four years as Three Rivers High School principal.

She started the current school year with a salary of $124,000.

Logan received a rating of “minimally effective” during the board’s annual superintendent’s evaluation administered last month.

Logan’s last day will be Jan. 25. She has not issued a public statement about her new job.

Also Wednesday, the board accepted the resignation of Sara Hermann, director of business operations. Her last day will be Feb. 9.
