Darren J. Gearhart passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 unexpectedly with his father by his side. He was born on September 04, 1984 in Kalmazoo, the son of David R. Gearhart Jr and Veronica L. Etter (deceased) . He was a resident of Marcellus for many years of his life.
Darren loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening with his Dad and brother more than anything else in the world. Golfing was his sport of choice as well as Drone flying. He was a smart, hands on person. A real curious tech person that would tear things apart just to figure out how they worked. If someone had an issue with electronics, Darren was your man. His favorite holiday was the Fourth of July as he loved fireworks. He was always thinking of others before himself. His heart was bigger than you could imagine. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Darren spent sometime in Florida but eventually made it back to Michigan where he called home. His wonderful smile and witty attitude will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Surviving are his father David R Gearhart of Marcellus, one sister Jessica (Andrew) Kennedy of Swanton, OH, one brother Richard L. Etter of Marcellus, grandparents David Gearhart Sr and Joyce Gearhart of Wimauma, Florida, Betty Lamons of Vicksburgh, 1 niece, Courtney Kennedy, and 2 nephews, Peyton and Max Kennedy, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 16th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home in Marcellus. Jamey Smith, Pastor of Riverside Church of Three Rivers will be officiating the ceremony. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the serviced at 12:00 noon.
In lieu of flowers, donations to help with the funeral cost would be appreciated.
