Sturgis Area Community Foundation names grant recipients

Sturgis Area Community Foundation recently completed its 2017 competitive grant program. Recipients include:

Sturges-Young Auditorium, $50,000, to assist with the makeover project, contingent on confirmation of Phase l of the project.

City of Sturgis, two grants. One for $5,000 supporting a signage project for the pedestrian walkway honoring the Sister City relationship with Wiesloch, Germany. The other in the amount of $25,000 to replace playground equipment, provide handicap accessibility, and refurbish the hockey roller rink at Oaklawn Park.

Domestic and Sexual Abuse Services. $1,200 to assist with the Intersection of Substance Use project.

Glen Oaks Community College, $10,000 in support of the school’s Art Gallery project.

Sturgis Police Department: $7,500 toward its Speed Radar Signs project.
