Thomas G. Black, 64, passed away Jan. 3, 2018, due to a lengthy illness from his 1995 liver transplant.
He was born March 28, 1953, to Janet Ireland Black and W. Dean Black of White Pigeon. Tom was a graduate of White Pigeon High School and Wright State University in Ohio. He retired as assistant county administrator and director of the office of management and budget, Montgomery County, Ohio, in 2009. Tom was an avid reader and enjoyed pitching for his softball team.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; his stepfather, Arnold; a brother, Jeff; special niece Kristy; and special nephew Jaron.
Tom is survived by his wife of 42 years, JoAnn Nault Black; puppy Toby; a sister, Becky (John) Sassaman of White Pigeon; a brother, Gary (Renee) Black of Florida; adopted brothers Rick of Florida and Randy of Illinois. He also is survived by JoAnn’s parents, Henry and Irene of Michigan; a sister-in-law, Barb of Ohio; a brother-in-law, Bud (Lisa) of Wisconsin; and nieces and nephews, Lynn, Kim, Jeff, Wendy, David (Jen), Mark, Tammy, Todd, Jessica (Jason), Kelly (Dean), Ryan (Lauren) and Rachael (Mike).
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. March 24, 2018, at White Pigeon Township Cemetery.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, by Tom’s softball friends in Florida. A second celebration of life will be held 6-9 p.m. March 20, 2018, at Marion’s Piazza in Town and Country Shopping Center on Stroop Road in Ohio.
