Ireta May Zehr, 75, of Centreville, went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2018 at her home. She was born in Sturgis on May 11, 1942, a daughter of John William and Hazel (Rosine) Schragg. Ireta graduated from Centreville High School in 1960. On April 1, 1961, she married Richard Zehr in Centreville. He preceded her in death on April 25, 1999.
Ireta previously worked for Lear Plastics in Mendon. She cherished her family, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ireta was a member of Life Church in Centreville. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and listening to country, gospel, and bluegrass music.
Ireta is survived by her son Clint (Lori) Zehr of Colon, granddaughter Rhiannon Zehr of Colon, grandson Jeremiah “JT” (Kori) Zehr of Centreville, great grandchildren Emma, Sophia, Huxley, Henry, and Samson; brothers Frank (Lydia) Schragg of Centreville and Carlyle (Joey) Schragg of Coldwater; sisters-in-law Marilyn, Mary Ellen, and Ardella; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and five brothers Edmund, Robert, Victor, Jimmy, and John.
Relatives and friends will be received on Saturday, February 17 from 1-3 and 5-8 PM at the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville. Religious services will be held on Sunday, February 18 at 3 pm at Locust Grove Mennonite Church with Pastor Clint Zehr officiating. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
