Betty L. Pinney, age 92, of Sturgis, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018, at Thurston Woods Village.
She was born Jan. 1, 1926, in Massillon, Ohio, a daughter of the late Lyman and Nora (France) Kaser.
Betty had been a resident of Sturgis since 1955, coming here from Ohio.
She was first married to Walter L. Ream and he preceded her in death in 1978. On July 23, 1982, she married John F. Pinney. He preceded her in death June 26, 2016.
Betty had been employed by Transogram and G.F. Business Equipment in Sturgis for many years, working at each company until it closed, at which time she stayed home and spent time doing some of the things she enjoyed, such as gardening, cooking, sewing, and spending time with family.
Surviving are children: Nancy (David) Hearld of Sturgis and their three children: Brian Hearld of Sturgis and his children: Allison and Leah, Scott Hearld of Sturgis and his children: Aubrey and Cassidy, and Jeff (Ashley) Hearld of Granger, Ind., and their children: Coltan and Lucas; Jerry (MJ) Pinney of Centreville and their children and grandchildren, and Steven John Pinney of Palm Springs, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; three brothers; and two sisters.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A service to remember and celebrate the life of Betty L. Pinney will be held at a later date, to be announced.
Memorial donations in her memory may be directed to Animal Rescue Fund, 20579 Roys Road, Centreville, MI 49032. Envelopes are available at Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis, which has been entrusted with arrangements.
