Billy Joe Farley, 76

Billy Joe Farley, age 76, of Three Rivers, died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at his home. He was born in Belzoni, MS on Dec. 3, 1941 the son of Chester W. and Ethel L. (Stokes) Farley. Billy attended Three Rivers schools and graduated from Marcellus High School. He was a proud veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He began working for Local Finance in Three Rivers and later in Niles where he met his future wife, Virginia Ruth Kandler. They were married on May 20, 1967 in Three Rivers. They moved to Oregon in 1970 where Billy worked for a utility company, and later as a tax collector for the State of Oregon. They also resided in Arkansas and New Mexico where they operated a general store. They returned to Three Rivers in 2014, and where Virginia passed away on Nov. 15, 2017. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping.

Billy Joe is survived by a daughter, Terri (Gary) Stoll of Decatur; two grandsons, Nicholas (Leah) Stoll of Gun Lake and Justin (Lacey) Stoll of Kalamazoo; two great-grandchildren, Kenzi and Jackson Stoll; his sister, Dorothy Ann “Dottie” Tout of Three Rivers and her daughter, Lori (Tim) Holder. He was preceded in death by brother in law, Leroy Tout and nephews, Michael Tout and Bobby Price.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers. Funeral services will begin at 1 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Kyle Foster, Pastor of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Military interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
