Deborah Lynn Eckert, age 63, of Sturgis, died Friday, March 9, 2018 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. She was born in Sturgis on July 2, 1954 the daughter of Lyle J. and Wava E. (Crotser) Eckert.
Debbie attended the Pathfinder Center in Centreville and later worked at ARCH Workshop in Sturgis. She attended the Sturgis Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed TV game shows, word-search and picture puzzles, and clipping coupons.
Debbie is survived by her mother, Wava Eckert of Sturgis; four brothers, Mark (Joanne) Eckert of Albuquerque, NM, Tom Eckert of Sturgis, Phil (Beth) Eckert of Burr Oak, Dan Eckert of Constantine; a sister, Julia (Terry) Armstrong of Oklahoma City, OK; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Lyle in 1990.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday at the Sturgis Church of the Nazarene, 70031 S. Lakeview, Sturgis, MI 49091. Funeral services will be at 11 am Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at the church with Rev. John Grable officiating. Interment will be in Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak. Memorial contributions may be directed to the church or a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements were by the Eickhoff Funeral Home of Mendon.
