Investigation continues into school violence threat

Three Rivers Police officers are continuing their investigation into a threat of violence at Three Rivers High School last week.

A high school student was taken into custody Friday afternoon after threats were reported Thursday to OK2SAY.

The suspect was identified and removed from the school by authorities. A search was conducted Friday afternoon, at the student’s home in the 57000 block of Buckhorn Road in Lockport Township.

Because of the assessed risk level, members of the St. Joseph County Special Response Team were mobilized and subsequently executed the search warrant.

The student was safely taken into custody and several unsecured weapons and computer technology were seized by police.

The student was turned over to juvenile court authorities.
