Police seek warrants after marijuana operation found

Warrants are being sought for a number of suspects following the discovery of a large-scale marijuana operation last week in Cass County’s Ontwa Township.

Members of the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team served a search warrant on an address in the 71000 block of Stateline Road on the suspicion that the illegal sale and use of marijuana was taking place.

Upon searching the residence, detectives discovered processed and packaged marijuana in excess of 30 pounds, as well as a storage tote full of marijuana edibles in excess of 40 pounds.

Marijuana wax and oil was also located in dozens of small containers ready for distribution, authorities said, noting that more than $30,000 in cash was seized along with several vehicles.

Detectives were assisted by the Ontwa Township Edwardsburg Police Department.
