Sturgis chooses 6 superintendent candidates

Sturgis Public Schools Board of Education has chosen six candidates to interview for the position of superintendent.

During a special meeting last week, consultant Gary Rider presented 17 applicants to the board and facilitated the process to narrow the field to those the board ultimately selected to interview.

Interviews are open to the public.

The first three will take place today: at 5 p.m. with Kristy Spann, executive director of education services of Brandon School District in Ortonville; 6:30 p.m. with Kevin Robydek, middle school principal at Portland Public Schools; and 8 p.m. with Nicole Airgood, assistant superintendent of Sturgis Public Schools.

Tuesday’s lineup starts at 5 p.m. with Karen Sherwood, superintendent of Kalkaska Public Schools; 6:30 p.m. with Jonathan Whan, superintendent of Grant Public Schools; and 8 p.m. with Arthur Ebert, deputy superintendent of West Bloomfield School District.
