Three Rivers Community Schools will continue its search for a permanent superintendent by interviewing four candidates.
The district last week reviewed a slate of 18 candidates before narrowing its choices to four. They are: Spencer Byrd, superintendent of Meridian School District in the southern tip of Illinois; Jeff Rehlander, superintendent at Gobles Public Schools in Van Buren County; Ron Moag, chief financial officer and human resources officer for Suttons Bay Public Schools; and Jonathon Whan, superintendent at Grant Public Schools.
Interviews were established and will begin with Byrd at 6 p.m. April 9. Rehlander will follow after the conclusion of Byrd’s interview. Moag will appear before the board at 6 p.m. April 12 and Whan will conclude the first round of interviews after Moag.
Board members said a second round of interviews will take place toward the end of April.
In all, 18 people applied for the position, which was vacated earlier this year when Jean Logan took a job in Jackson County. Rob Kuhlman is serving as interim superintendent through June.
