Volunteers needed for career event

MiCareerQuest Southwest-St. Joseph is looking for volunteers to help with a one-day event involving more than 700 high school freshmen later this month.

The career-investigation event is designed for students from all St. Joseph County school districts.

MiCareerQuest is a hands-on experience where students discover what it’s like to be an RN, a graphic artist, mechanical engineer or employee in many other fields.

More than 40 local business and industry, and post-secondary partners will be on-site to showcase exciting careers that include agriculture, manufacturing/business and technology, trades, health care and sciences, arts and communications.

Thirty additional volunteers are needed the morning of March 27 at Glen Oaks Community College. Volunteer duties include but are not limited to assisting business partners set-up and tear down their activities, guide students throughout the day, assisting with logistics of boarding and un-boarding buses.

Potential volunteers are asked to contact Lisa Smith by email at lisa.smith@kresa.org.
